The Junior Secondary Program (Years 7 – 9) sets the platform for quality performance and subject choice in the Senior Years.A careful balance of a quality academic program combined with the nurturing of student wellbeing and leadership lays a strong foundation of a mature young adult entering Senior School for years 10 -12.
The Junior Secondary Curriculum provides students the opportunity to solidify skills in key core areas whilst also being exposed to a wide range of Experience and Elective subjects.

Junior academy:
Wilsonton State High School’s belief in every student to achieve ensures that a pathway is provided for every student to reach their full potential. The Junior Academy program (PDF, 589KB) aims to take bright minds and grow them for a successful future in the 21st century.
Eligible and invited students will be able to participate in a range of extension classes and enrichments programs and a 10 week specialised intensive program. Junior Academy Students inYear 8 will also have the opportunity to participate in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Program.
Student wellbeing:
In addition to an extensive Academic Program, Student Wellbeing remains a high priority across the school. Specifically in Junior Secondary, each Year Level has a Year Level Coordinator who supports students in their wellbeing through an extensive LifeSkills Program as well as extra-curricular events such as Camps, Adventure Days and Reward Events.
